Australian Pinball Expo Set for July 2026!

🎉 Australia Are You Ready For Some Silverball Action 🎉

If you love pinball as much as we do, then get ready—Australia’s silverball scene is about to get even bigger!

Introducing the inaugural Australian Pinball Expo (A.P.E), set to take place from Thursday, 2nd July to Sunday, 5th July 2026 in Adelaide, South Australia.

Organised by the passionate crew behind the Australian Pinball Museum, A.P.E. aims to bring together flipper fanatics from across the country to celebrate the sights, sounds, and history of pinball—from classic electromechanicals to modern marvels.

Whether you’re a seasoned player, a collector, or just looking to soak up the nostalgia, the Australian Pinball Expo promises to be an unmissable event packed with games, guests, and good times.

The all important details (that we know so far):

Still Standing BONUS Featurette: Australian Pinball Museum

Let’s start with the obvious, if you haven’t as yet watched the amazing and absolute banger of a documentary, Still Standing, then hop to it immediately – it’s available on SBS On-Demand, Viceland, Amazon Prime (US) and a swag of other streaming services!

If you have already watched Still Standing, we recommend you probably watch it again – it is that good. We are pretty chuffed to see that the creator of this award-winning documentary, Brad Gilbertson, has made available extra bonus footage that couldn’t fit into the 74 minute feature.

The first of these bonus featurettes is on the Australian Pinball Museum, where its owner, Lyndon Carter, takes us on a very insightful and magical tour of this must-see museum in Nhill (Victoria).

The Australian Pinball Museum Visits The Next Level Pinball Shop & Museum

Prior to exhibiting at the 2024 Texas Pinball Festival (TPF), the Australian Pinball Museum visited the Next Level Pinball Shop & Museum in Hillsboro (Oregon, USA), and we are so glad that they did!

What Ever Happened to the Pinball Museum in Queensland?

As the title asks, we are still scratching our heads in what happened to the Pinball Museum that was being built and setup on the Gold Coast in Queensland?

The last we saw or heard about it was this video uploaded by our good friend and pinball expert, Norbert Snicer from Pinball HQ a couple of years ago. If anyone knows more about the fate of this pinball museum, please get in touch via our contact page.

The following commentary about the Pinball Museum is from Pinball HQ:

“Alan Tate, the man behind the most ambitious pinball project ever undertaken in Australia. An absolute privilege for Pinball HQ to be invited to check out the progress of this mammoth project built from scratch on a private property at the scenic Mount Tamborine in South East Queensland, an hour drive from Gold Coast. What makes the project even more remarkable is that everything you see, the museum building, the shop, the storage shed, every inch of it was made and built by Alan Tate with the help of Lee Feldwick who also restores the pinball machines with immaculate perfection. It may take a decade (and we hope much sooner) for the door to open for public but it will be worth the wait! Some of the rarest and most unique machines (and not only pinballs ) are among the over 2000 machines the Pinball Museum is said to own.”

Sega Scud Race Arcade Promotional Video

We love finding these promo videos of arcade games we used to love and play at amusement centres back in the day.

The below promotional video is for Sega’s Scud Race arcade game from 1996. Scud Race (Sports Car Ultimate Drive) was also known as Sega Super GT in North America.

Oh yeah, keep an ear out on how “Sega” is pronounced in this promo video – long live See-gah!
