Any time I hear or see the word “Cops”, I want to break out into Inner Circle’s “Bad boys, bad boys, whatcha gonna do, whatcha gonna do when they come for you, bad boys, bad boys”. Too bad I haven’t got the Jamaican accent down pat.
Ah, I have digressed. Speaking of cops, have you ever wondered what The Legend Of Zelda would be like if it had a patrolling policeman? No? Well, if it did, Dorkly shows us how it would play out.

Remember the old “Are you keeping up with the Commodore” television commercial? Or who could forget the ‘Atari Summer‘ promotion for their 5200?
The advertising wars weren’t just confined to print media. There were shots fired via television commercials by all major players. Commodore focused on the family unit and pushed their C64 as a home computer for the entire family to enjoy. Atari on the other hand chose to sex it up when it was time to peddle their ill-fated 5200 Super System.
Sega played it safe when it came to introducing the west to their 8-bit Master System by depicting a family (minus mum!) having fun with their arcade conversions. Meanwhile, Nintendo hit hard in the USA with their 1985 commercial, introducing us to R.O.B, the Zapper gun and their 8-bit console beauty, the NES. The rest, as they say, is history.
Take a trip down nostalgia lane and relive the television commercials that introduced us to our most beloved systems.

I reckon Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld should get together with Nintendo and thrash out some rights to get this show syndicated! If this is a taste of a typical episode, then I know I would watch. What do you reckon?

I wonder what Koji Kondo would make of this – blending Sonic’s tunes and effects on Nintendo’s masterpiece, Super Mario World. Strangely enough, the Sonic music and sound effects do go quite well. I am sure Koji would approve and have a right royal laugh about it.

If Mario was on steroids, would he go on a roid rage and take on every video gaming character in his way? Looking at these fine pieces of art by Sebastian Von Buchwald, it looks like that he may. Our hero has become the angry anti-hero!
Mario vs. Ryu
Mario vs. Crono
Mario vs. Lara Croft
Mario vs. Sonic

What? What are you saying about Super Mario Bros. 3? You mean to tell me that I have been playing a lie for the last twenty or so years? Hmm, the evidence is quite compelling. I feel so violated right about now. What do you think?

It’s ok, my jaw dropped too. You can slowly put it back in place. Who wouldn’t want a Breaking Bad (Bad Breaker! – very clever!) inspired NES cart? This is one of many fine NES cartidge artistic works by some very talented artists at 72 Pins.
These created items use classic NES cartridges recycled as an art canvas. Inside the cart, you will find a random vintage game from the original NES lineup that still works! Very cool indeed. All profits go directly to supporting the artists and the teams involved in the creation of these carts.
Check out the rest of their range down below and then hit their site to support the artists!

Let’s face it, just because I am not a fan of Zelda games, it doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate the franchise. Obviously there are gamers out there that have a huge affinity for Zelda, just like Joshua Kershaw. Joshua has stitched together (nearly) every Zelda game to date into one remix video. Click on play and enjoy.
